Iowa, June 1912. Entire Moore family plus two visiting girls — all eight of them — axed to death in their sleep. Every mirror and window in the house was covered with cloth. The killer also put a piece of bacon rind on the floor next to the axe, which I have never seen anyone explain satisfactorily.……
