Rowbotham waded into that canal in 1838 and they STILL can't explain it

Been digging into the Old Bedford River stuff for months and honestly the more I read the angrier I get. Samuel Rowbotham, calls himself "Parallax" in the pamphlets, goes out summer of 1838 to this dead-straight six mile stretch of canal between Welney and Welche's Dam. No locks, no bends, perfectly……
