found a 1977 writeup of the Aveley 'green mist' lot — is this case actually solid or no?

Genuinely asking the older heads here because I keep seeing this called 'the most important British case ever' and I can't tell if that's hype. Aveley, Essex, Oct 1974. The Avis family driving home, see an oval blue light pacing the car, then hit a wall of thick green mist across the whole road, 8-9……
