Ok not a monster sighting exactly but bear with me. Osedax worms weren't discovered until 2002 off Monterey Canyon. They drill into whale bones and eat lipids using bacteria. The females are visible, the males are microscopic and live inside the females. They've since been found in fossil whale bone……
