the Lycurgus Cup changes color and the Romans had NANOPARTICLES (sort of)

British Museum has this cup. Roman, ~4th century AD, carved glass showing king Lycurgus getting strangled by vines (rough day for him). looks jade green in normal light. but shine a light THROUGH it from behind and it glows blood red. only complete dichroic glass piece from antiquity that we have. ……
