Houska — they built the castle to keep something IN, not enemies out

Houska Castle, north Bohemia, built mid-1200s under Ottokar II. and it makes no sense as a fort. no water source, no trade route, no kitchen worth mentioning, no real defenses facing OUT. the strongest fortifications and the chapel face INWARD, over a limestone pit. local story going back centuries……
